It is August and students are not even back on campus, but the first college visitors have already begun to arrive. Paul Burgess, Director of International Admissions and International Initiatives was on campus on 29 August representing Tulane University. Paul was interested in learning about Marymount students and the kind of academic preparation they might bring to Tulane’s exceptional university setting in New Orleans. Tulane is a private, comprehensive research university with about eight thousand undergraduates and is among the elite institutions in the United States. There are many more visits on the horizon, as well as a few particularly significant fairs. On 20 September we will host 25 representatives for a college fair during lunch. Then, on 8 November, the CIS College Fair comes to the Marynmount campus in the morning. On that day, ninety university representatives will be available to meet with students from grades 11 and 12 as well as those of their parents who would like to attend.
